Prep highlights: Humphreys, Camas win titles at Prairie Invite

Junior shoots 67 at Cedars on Salmon Creek

Camas’ Brian Humphreys shot a 67 to win the Prairie Invitational by four shots Wednesday at The Cedars on Salmon Creek.

Humphreys’ effort helped Camas edge Union for the team title 300-302.

Union’s Eddie Abellar won a three-way tiebreaker to take second place. He shot a 71, along with Trent Standard of Fort Vancouver (third) and Ben Gruher of Union (fourth).

Spencer Tibbits of Fort Vancouver was fifth at 72.

Humphreys, the 2013 Class 4A state champion and 2014 runner-up, won the Thunder Invitational at Tri-Mountain earlier this month.

Stars of the day

• Kristianna Troyer and Grace Adams, Woodland girls soccer, led the way in a 4-1 non-league win over W.F. West. Troyer had two goals, and Adams had a goal and two assists.

• Jenna Melanson, La Center cross country, won a four-team Trico League meet at Castle Rock in 20:53 to lead the Wildcats to a team win.

• Brock Schoene, Seton Catholic cross country, won a four-team Trico League meet at Castle Rock by 30 seconds, winning in 17:58.

• Melisa Ljuca, Mountain View volleyball, had 10 kills, two aces and five digs in a non-league win over Fort Vancouver.

• Livi Cox, Union swimming, won the 200 individual medley (2:18.79) and 100 butterfly (1:07.26) as well as swam on two winning relays as Union beat Columbia River and Hudson’s Bay.
