Friends of Trees selling discounted street trees

Vancouver — Friends of Trees wants to make the area a bit greener by offering discounted street trees to Vancouver residents. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the organization is selling $25 trees to people living here and in the Oregon cities of Portland, Eugene and Salem. The street trees being offered typically cost as much as $75. To sign up for trees, which are of a variety of types and include delivery and planting, visit www.friendsoftrees.org/plant or call 503-595-0212. Friends of Trees holds volunteer tree planting days throughout the year. The next Vancouver planting is set for Nov. 15.
