SEATTLE — During fall camp, it was uncertain whether Ricardo Lockette would make the Seattle Seahawks roster.

Three games into the season, he has been one of their best receivers.

Lockette caught his second touchdown of the season Sunday. He beat Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib for a 39 yard TD catch in the second quarter.

“I felt like I was faster than (Talib),” Lockette said. “I felt I should just beat him to the end zone. When the ball was in the air, I had no doubt it was mine.”

On the first play of that drive, he likely saved a touchdown by grabbing Talib on what would have been an interception. He also had a big hit on punt coverage in the third quarter.

“I tell him all the time, you’re an impact player,” fellow receiver Percy Harvin said of Lockette. “I don’t care if it’s on offense, defense or special teams, he definitely has a foundation to build upon.”

Kicking for Canada

On a day the Seahawks saluted Canada Day, Jon Ryan launched a few fireworks of his own.

The punter from Regina, Saskatchewan, had punts of 66, 61 and 58 yards. After Denver’s safety in the fourth quarter, he launched a free kick that sailed 80 yards to the goal line.

Each of those kicks pinned the Broncos inside the 20-yard line. The average Denver drive started from the 18, while Seattle’s average drive began at its 34.

“I’ll hit as many bombs as they let me hit,” Ryan said. “You normally don’t get to contribute like some of the offense and defense. Whenever I can contribute to the game like that it’s nice”

Back to Beast Mode

One week after back tightness limited him to six carries, Marshawn Lynch was back as a main weapon in Seattle’s offense.

Lynch, who received a heat rub on his back shortly before kickoff, rushed 26 times for 88 yards. He also had three catches for 40 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown

Quick kicks

• Left tackle Russell Okung suffered an injured shoulder late in the second quarter, but returned for the second half.

• Earl Thomas missed Seattle’s first defensive drive of the second half with cramps.

• Sunday’s attendance of 68,447 was a CenturyLink Field regular season record.

• Seattle assistant offensive line coach Pat Ruel was back coaching Sunday. He was hospitalized after last week’s game at San Diego with an irregular heartbeat.

• Former UW basketball player Nate Robinson raised the 12th Man flag.
