The Fort Vancouver Vipers open the 2014-15 Northern Pacific Hockey League season with games on Friday and Saturday in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, against the Cheney Icehawks.

The Vancouver junior hockey team — with players age 16-20 — has two players back from the team that went 0-40 last season. The Vipers have added former Portland Winterhawk Jim Dobson as a coach this season.

The Vipers first home games at Mountain View Ice Arena are Sept. 26 and 27 against defending champion Bellingham.
