Yacolt man dies in crash north of Battle Ground

Brian Bender, 30, of Yacolt succumbs to injuries at hospital

A Yacolt man died in the hospital after his vehicle crashed into a tree north of Battle Ground on Friday morning.

Brian Bender, 30, was traveling west on Northeast 299th Street at about 7:45 a.m. when his car crossed the roadway and hit a tree on the south side of the road near Northeast 108th Avenue, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Bender suffered massive injuries in the crash, according to Clark County Fire & Rescue Tim Dawdy. He was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he died.

His remains were transferred to the Clark County Medical Examiner.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office traffic detectives are investigating the accident and cleared the scene around 9:30 a.m.

Bender’s is the 30th death from vehicle crashes in Clark County this year.
