Camas-Washougal Fire Department plans open house

CAMAS — The Camas-Washougal Fire Department is holding its annual open house and health and safety fair Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Station 42, 4321 N.W. Parker St. Throughout the day, people can tour fire engines, learn more about fire prevention, learn CPR and get information about local health and safety organizations. Several demonstrations are scheduled:

• 10:15 a.m.: Kitchen fire simulations.

• 11 a.m.: Vehicle extrication demonstrations.

• 11:30 a.m.: Police dog demonstrations.

• Noon: Life Flight helicopter landing (weather permitting).

• 12:55 p.m.: House fire simulation and sprinkler demonstration.

• 1:30 p.m.: Emergency preparedness cook-off with Mayor Scott Higgins and Mayor Sean Guard.
