Diners at the Grant House on the Fort Vancouver National Site were met with a surprise Wednesday evening when a large limb from an old maple tree crashed down onto East Evergreen Boulevard, right in front of the historic house.
No one was injured.
The tree, which stands just a few feet west of a bus stop, lost the limb at about 6:20 p.m.
The downed limb blocked both lanes of Evergreen Boulevard. Vancouver police diverted traffic through nearby parking lots.
A crew from Vancouver’s Public Works Department used a chain saw and a bulldozer to remove the tree limb.
