The first play of the game went poorly for the Evergreen football team on Saturday.

And then things got worse.

Todd Beamer got an interception of Evergreen’s first play from scrimmage. The Titans converted that turnover into the first of three touchdown runs by Andrew Tofaeono in a 33-0 victory for Todd Beamer of Federal Way.

Evergreen also gave up a safety when the snap during a punt attempt sailed over the punter’s head and through the end zone.

Justice Murphy, who sat out the Plainsmen’s 56-7 win over Eisenhower of Yakima last week, played against Beamer. But the Titans contained the Plainsmen star.

Stars of the day

• Anyssa Devera, Camas girls soccer, scored two goals as the Papermakers beat Enumclaw 6-0.

• Ashley Spencer, Columbia River girls soccer, recorded 13 saves in goal and recorded a shutout in her first complete game in goal in the Chieftains’ 0-0 draw with Battle Ground.

• Rylee Seekins, Hockinson girls soccer, scored all three of the Hawks’ goals in a 3-3 tie with Mountain View.

• Alyssa Pudlitzke Camas girls cross country, placed second in the seniors race in 13 minutes, 45 seconds at the Capital Invitational in Olympia.
