On the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, agencies around Clark County are holding ceremonies to remember what happened that day and the people who died.
City of Vancouver
The city of Vancouver’s annual Patriot Day ceremony in front of City Hall includes a posting of the colors and remarks from Mayor Pro Tem Larry Smith.
When: 12:10 p.m. Thursday.

East County Fire & Rescue
The annual Ceremony of Remembrance put on by East County Fire & Rescue takes place at Station 91 next to Grove Field in Camas. The evening kicks off with a benefit spaghetti dinner hosted by volunteer firefighters. The ceremony starts at 7:30 p.m. and includes luminaria for each first responder who died on 9/11. There will be a short talk, and people can see the granite 9/11 memorial that was dedicated last year.

Clark County Fire District 3
Firefighters at Fire District 3 headquarters in Hockinson will hold a small Patriot Day ceremony, including a moment of silence, bell ringing and lowering of the flag. The station annually stakes 300 U.S. flags in the front lawn, each one honoring 10 people killed in the Sept. 11 attacks, along with four large flags for each attack site. Light refreshments are provided.
