Clark roundup: Penguins top WW in men’s soccer

Men’s soccer

Octavio Hermosillo scored in the sixth minute as the Clark College men’s soccer team beat Walla Walla 1-0 on Saturday in Vancouver.

Clark (3-0-2) next plays at Wenatchee Valley on Friday.

Women’s soccer

Clark played Walla Walla to a 0-0 draw on Saturday. The Penguins were coming off a Friday loss to Yakima Valley, 2-1.

Clark (1-2-2) next plays at Treasure Valley on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Volleyball

The Clark volleyball team team went 1-4 at the Spokane Falls Invitational.

On Friday, the Penguins posted a win over Edmonds (25-23, 25-12, 25-15), and lost to Blue Mountain (25-16, 25-14, 22-25, 25-13) and Walla Walla (27-17, 26-24, 25-21).

On Saturday, Clark lost to Big Bend (25-20, 25-23, 18-25 25-18) and to Mt. Hood (27-25, 25-12, 25-20).

Next for Clark is a road trip doubleheader on Wednesday. The Penguins will first stop at Salem to play Chemeketa at 1 p.m., and then play at Clackamas in Oregon City at 7 p.m.
