Vote for Week 1 football player of the week

Nominees for high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 6. To vote on the athlete of the week go to www.columbian.com/sports or 360preps.com. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Tuesday with results published in Wednesday’s Columbian.

• ALEX BERFANGER, UNION: Berfanger rushed for 127 yards on 10 carries, caught two passes for 18 yards and scored the go-ahead TD in the Titans’ win over Federal Way.

• REY GREEN, EVERGREEN: Green rushed for 143 yards on 17 carries and a TD and caught two passes for 102 yards and a TD in Evergreen’s rout of Eisenhower.

• WYATT HARSH, WOODLAND: The freshman quarterback threw for 211 yards and two TDs and his first high school pass was a 70-yard touchdown pass play in Woodland’s win over Kalama.

• JAMES PRICE, CAMAS: Price caught eight passes for 132 yards as Camas avenged its loss to Chiawana in last year’s state title game. Price also had an interception.

• ANTHONY SANCHEZ, HUDSON’S BAY: Sanchez caught seven passes for 136 yards and two TDs, including the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter of Bay’s win over Fort Vancouver.
