A power outage in west Hazel Dell left 2,435 customers without electricity Saturday morning.

The outage happened at about 10:25 a.m., and it was centered along Northeast 99th Street, just east of Columbia River High School, according to Clark Public Utilities. Lights flickered several times in the Felida area as power was rerouted around the outage.

The cause remained under investigation Saturday afternoon, utilities spokeswoman Erica Erland said, but may have been a switch that was recently replaced at a substation in the area, she said.

All power was restored to the area by about 12:50 p.m. Saturday, several hours earlier than anticipated, Erland said. Many of the customers got their power back earlier, she said.
