The game started with freshman quarterback Wyatt Harsh connecting with Trevor Huddleston on a 70-yard scoring play and it only got better from there for the Beavers.

Eli Whitmire rushed 11 times for 128 yards and three touchdowns, plus accounted for a safety on defense for Woodland in the season opener.

Harsh completed 7 of 13 passes for 211 yards and two TDs.

“I’m proud of our kids,” coach Mark Greenleaf said. “They responded well to the leadership of Harsh. And our defense came up big with three interceptions, two for touchdowns.”

Ben Clevenger had two fumble recoveries.
