Discussion focuses on autism and emergencies

A free community event hosted by the Autism Society of Washington looks to prepare families and care providers in dealing with emergencies. The discussion runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at the Camas-Washougal Fire Department’s Station 42, 4321 N.W. Parker St. Topics include:

• How to prepare for and prevent emergencies.

• What to do before calling 911.

• Responding to elopement.

• Tracking systems and databases, such as Smart911.
