Washington State University Vancouver will host a diversity-related Connections event at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Firstenburg Student Commons, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. It is free and open to the public.
The event includes food, music, prizes and a WSU Vancouver original photo exhibit. Parking is available at meters and in the blue daily pay lot for $3.
Showcasing 12 students, faculty and staff through photos and stories, the “Faces of WSUV” is a walk-through photo exhibit highlighting the diverse backgrounds of WSU Vancouver’s community.
Attendees will learn about WSU Vancouver’s diversity-related student organizations including the Cougar Pride Club, Latino Student Association and Students with Disabilities Club. They can also sign up to volunteer for one of four nonprofits: the Cascade AIDS Project, YWCA, Southwest Washington College Access and Southwest Washington MESA (Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement).
The Portland band Rhythm Culture will perform reggae-style music.
