An auto mechanic in Washougal is accused of leaving child pornography inside a customer’s vehicle during a test drive.
Devin C. Husk, 19, of Washougal appeared Tuesday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of 10 counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Judge Barbara Johnson held him in Clark County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail and appointed Vancouver attorney Clark Fridley to defend him.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Sept. 9.
Husk responded to a post on Craigslist by a woman seeking a mechanic, according to a court affidavit by Washougal police Detective Kate Tierney.
The woman and her female friend took the vehicle to Husk’s house in Washougal for a repair. When Husk took the vehicle out for a test drive, he apparently left behind a yellow envelope in the backseat, according to court documents.
When the women drove the vehicle home, it started to overheat, so they pulled over to let it cool down, Tierney wrote.
That’s when they noticed the envelope in the backseat. They looked inside the envelope and found Husk’s résumé, two letters, handwritten notes, a list of sexually titled websites, two erotic stories and 33 pages of images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to Tierney.
Tierney said the pages contained 129 individual images, at least 100 of which depicted child sex abuse. Most of the victims appeared to be girls who were less than 10 years old, Tierney wrote.
