An open house meeting next week will gather feedback on the design of a downtown Vancouver transit station being developed as part of a planned bus rapid transit system.

C-Tran planners will unveil the latest design for the terminus station at what’s now Turtle Place Plaza, which runs along Seventh Street between Washington and Main streets. Attendees will be invited to review and comment on the plans during the open house, which will last from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in the Columbia Room of the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St. C-Tran will give a 30-minute presentation at 10 a.m. as part of the meeting.

The station would serve only bus rapid transit vehicles, not other routes, according to C-Tran.

C-Tran has proposed building a $53 million bus rapid transit line from the Westfield Vancouver mall to downtown. Construction could begin as soon as next year, according to the agency.
