Community sports notebook: Run benefits scholarships

Registration is open for the Jordan Crouch Memorial 5K Run/Walk, which takes place Sept. 13 at Marine Park.

Money from this event will benefit students who need financial assistance to continue their education.

The run is in honor of Jordan Crouch, a graduate of Skyview High School and Seattle Pacific University who died in 2010 before he could establish a foundation to help students.

Cost to participate is $35, $40 on race day.

Marathon registration open

Registration is open for the fifth Vancouver USA Marathon, which will take place June 21, 2015.

Before Sept. 15, registration prices are $69 for the full marathon and $49 for the half marathon.
