Bennington — When 57-year-old Steven Ashworth went into cardiac arrest on Sept. 21, his daughter jumped into action before first responders arrived by performing CPR, a quick-thinking move he credits with helping keep him alive. So for her 40th birthday party Oct. 14, daughter Wendy Woodhouse organized a CPR training class for family. First Aid trainer Teri Lyn Vik attended the party and trained 15 family members, ranging from 9 to 66 years old, in the life-saving maneuver. “As I continue to hear what transpired that day to save my life I am amazed at all of the people that played a part in so many ways, beside just giving me CPR, for me to be still here today,” Ashworth wrote in an email.
