Non-league football: Heritage 14, Kelso 9

Heritage scored on the opening kickoff and knocked down a pass on the final play of the game to secure a non-league win at Kelso.

Jarod Luedecker returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown, giving Heritage (2-6) a quick lead.

Cole Foley took a second-quarter interception back for the second Timberwolves touchdown and a 14-0 lead.

Kelso inched back within a touchdown on a short touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Heritage then took a safety late in the game for the other two Kelso points. The Hilanders (4-4) then tried a last-chance pass that was batted down short of the end zone.

Kalani Umiamaka carried the ball 23 times for 98 yards for Heritage, which netted 122 yards of offense. Kelso’s Zac Brandenberg rushed for 181 yards to provide most of the game’s offense. Kelso finished with 263 yards on the ground.
