The Lumberjacks used good old-fashioned short drives to reach the end zone five times before Hudson’s Bay answered back with a second half rally. Unfortunately for the Eagles it was not enough for a victory.
The Lumberjacks received good field position all night while the Eagles struggled to get past midfield often turning the ball over well inside Lumberjack territory.
In the third quarter Hudson’s Bay quarterback Jeremy Matheny threw a beautiful 41-yard pass to Nehemiah McDougal, which started an Eagles rally of two more McDougal touchdowns. Hudson’s Bay was in possession of the ball nearly all of the fourth quarter.
However a final 60-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth by Lumberjack’s Ryan Geier kept victory out of reach for the Eagles.
