Timbers at CD Olimpia

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

TV / radio: none.

Webcast: Fox Soccer Plus.

At stake: This match will determine the Group 5 champion who will move into the CONCACAF Champions quarterfinals, which takes place in the spring. The Timbers advance with a win, a tie, a one-goal loss or a two-goal loss with Portland scoring at least two goals.

Timbers: Portland is 3-0 in its CONCACAF Champions League debut, with two wins over Alpha United and a 4-2 home win over CD Olimpia. This is the first of two playoff-like matches this week, with the Timbers likely needing a win on Saturday in their last MLS regular-season match to have a chance at making the MLS Cup tournament for a second year in a row. All healthy players are on the trip, though coach Caleb Porter said he is likely to rest up to six key players in this match so they are fresh on Saturday. The Timbers have rested many of their regulars for at least part of each of their first three Champions League matches. With a win here, Portland could be the top seed entering the CCL quarterfinals next spring, which means they would face the No. 8-seeded qualifier in the two-leg quarterfinals.

CD Olimpia: Olimpia is in first place in the Honduran National League. Top scorer Romell Quioto had a goal in the Timbers’ 4-2 win over Olimpia in Portland. He played the second half of Honduras’ 1-1 draw with the United States on Oct. 14.
