A group of about 18 horses gave motorists a surprise Wednesday afternoon when they reportedly wandered down Northeast 88th Street near Andresen Road.

The horses, which were in the road north of Costco, were reported to 911 at about 3:30 p.m., said Paul Scarpelli, manager of Clark County Animal Control. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to help direct traffic as animal control workers corralled the horses.

By about 4:45 p.m., the animals were contained and officers had left the scene, Scarpelli said. His office is working to find the owner of the horses.
