Camas — To celebrate International Walk to School Month, Grass Valley Elementary students traveled 1.8 miles to school in a “walking school bus.” The parents and students took part in the annual Feet First IWALK Challenge on Oct. 9, where schools in Washington hold a walking event for a chance to win prizes, including grants and materials for classrooms. Walking school buses, where groups of kids are led by adults as they walk to school together, are a way to keep kids active while providing them a safer way to get to classes.
