Crews from multiple agencies battled a fire Monday night that sparked in a two-story outbuilding in Battle Ground.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:45 p.m. to the rural property, 8910 N.E. 185th St. When they arrived, crews from Clark County Fire & Rescue, Fire District 3 and the Vancouver Fire Department found a working fire on the ground floor of the outbuilding, said Tim Dawdy, spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue.

“The fire had gone from the first floor of the garage and up into the second floor and attic space,” Dawdy said.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames. No one was injured.

Dawdy described the building as a “very nice garage” with a shop and a loft.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire, he said.

The outbuilding was at the end of a long driveway, and residents did a good job of helping responders find the fire by sending someone to the end of the driveway to flag them down, Dawdy said.
