Week 4 fall sports athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school fall athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 3. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

DIEGO DE LA TORRE, HOCKINSON GOLF: De La Torre shot a 2-under par 33 at The Cedars in a win over Kelso.

MACKENZIE ELLERTSON, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN SOCCER: Ellertson had seven goals in two league wins to keep the Knights in first place in the Trico League.

LAUREN HARRIS, CAMAS VOLLEYBALL: Harris had 20 kills, two block and 28 digs as the Papermakers scored a five-set victory over Battle Ground.

JENNA MELANSON, LA CENTER GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Melanson won the Finn Hill 5,000 in Hockinson in 21:10 to help La Center place second as a team. And she won a Trico League meet in Stevenson.

DARYA SAMIEE, MOUNTAIN VIEW SWIMMING: Samiee won the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle and swam on two winning relays in a win over Kelso.
