4 hospitalized after 2 motorcycles crash in Longview

A Battle Ground woman was critically injured and three others were hurt Saturday night in a crash involving two motorcycles on state Highway 432 in Longview.

At about 10:45 p.m., troopers say, Jefferey Sudan, 44, of Ridgefield and his passenger Nitasha Miller, 37, of Battle Ground were traveling west on the highway on a Black 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Near the intersection with Washington Way, the bike struck a concrete curb, and Sudan and Miller were ejected from the motorcycle, according to State Patrol.

Sudan’s bike was then hit by a westbound gold 1971 Harley-Davidson driven by Paul Haight, 48, of Portland. Haight also had a passenger, Trinity Guayante, 50, of Portland.

All four people involved in the crash sustained injuries and were transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview. Guayante and Miller were later taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.

On Sunday, Miller was listed in critical condition, and Guayante was in fair condition, according to Legacy hospital staff. Sudan was in satisfactory condition, and Haight had been treated and released from the hospital, according to staff at PeaceHealth St. John.

All four were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, but Guayante was the only one wearing a helmet approved for motorcycle riding by the U.S. Department of Transportation, troopers said.

The crash was caused by improper lane usage, according to State Patrol. The agency is investigating the crash to see if any charges will be filed.
