1A Trico football: La Center 28, Castle Rock 7

The Wildcats ran all over the Rockets on Friday.

La Center scored a touchdown in each quarter starting with a 39-yard run by Cole Judd on the second play of the game. Judd finished the game with 157 yards on 18 carries.

Castle Rock answered with a 63-yard pass from Mason Klingberg to Shawn Godinho and tied the game with 9 minutes left in the second quarter.

Dalton Morgan of La Center ran for a 29-yard touchdown with 5:23 left in the half and La Center headed to the locker room with a 14-7 lead.

Another rushing touchdown by Judd and a 2-yard dash by Wyatt Aguirre were the only scores for the rest of the game.

La Center finished with 345 yards on the ground.

Judd said it was more than just his efforts that propelled the team to victory.

“It’s good to know they have faith in me but it’s all about the linemen,” Judd said.
