Lincoln — To help encourage parents to become more involved in reading with their kids, Altrusa International of Clark County gave a $1,150 grant to the Lincoln Elementary Family-Community Resource Center. The money helped pay for the Lincoln Loves Reading: Family Literacy Night on Nov. 6, where the school opened at night for 150 families who dressed in pajamas and ate milk and cookies while taking part in reading activities. Each student left with a new book, according to a press release. Learn more about Vancouver Public Schools’ Family Community Resource Centers at www.vansd.org/fcrc.
