A fire ignited in the attached garage of a Vancouver house Tuesday evening, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames shortly after arriving on scene.

Crews with the Vancouver Fire Department were dispatched at about 6:50 p.m. to the house, at 4713 N.E. 126th Ave. in the North Image neighborhood. They arrived to find a fire contained in the garage, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Tapping into a hydrant across the street, firefighters attacked the flames from outside and kept the internal doors of the home shut, according to radio traffic. The flames were put out by 7 p.m., and crews remained on scene to tend to potential hot spots.

No injuries were reported, according to radio traffic.

The cause of the fire was not available Tuesday evening. A fire investigator was called to the scene.
