• YWCA seeks volunteers to help incarcerated women transition to life in the community through its Worth program. Volunteers teach life skills, provide referrals to community services, help with clothing and sewing, and offer nonjudgemental support.
The city of Vancouver is looking for a volunteer to serve on both the Downtown Redevelopment Authority and City Center Redevelopment Authority boards. There is no residency requirement. The vacancy is for a four-year term. Regular board meetings are quarterly — at 11:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of March, June, September and December — at Vancouver City Hall. Battle Ground Public Schools seeks participants for the Facilities Improvement Team. The committee will help the district with a long-term management plan by making recommendations for facilities that meet the academic needs of students and keep pace with growth. Clark County commissioners seek to fill a vacancy on the city/county Telecommunications Commission for a term that begins immediately and ends Dec. 31, 2016. The volunteer commission advises the commissioners and Vancouver City Council on cable TV and other telecommunications issues. The group also serves as an advisory body in franchise renewal negotiations with Comcast. Meetings are at 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays each quarter at Vancouver City Hall.
