Mount Hood Meadows will offer a preview weekend with the Buttercup beginner chairlift operating from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The ticket price will be $15 for non-passholders. No equipment rentals or retail shops will be open, so skiers and snowboarders will need to bring their own gear.

Dave Tragethon, executive director of public relations, said 12 inches of snow fell on Thursday. The resort’s grooming crew is moving snow from the parking lot to the base area.

“The preseason jib park will have six rails in it, enough for freestylers to have fun and get creative,” Tragethon said. “Buttercup will run to provide access to the park, and on very limited pathways.”

The Higher Grounds cafe and Alpenstube Bar will be open.
