Veterans Day ceremony set for 11 a.m. Tuesday

A Veterans Day ceremony is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 15005 N.E. 65th St.

Leslie Burger, a Vancouver resident and Army major general who retired in 2006 after 33 years in the Army Medical Corps, is the keynote speaker. Others set to speak include U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas; state Rep. Paul Harris, R-Vancouver; state Rep. Monica Stonier, D-Vancouver; Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt; and Army Col. John Sweeney, commander of the 2nd Brigade, 95th Division, based at the Reserve Center.

In addition to the 11 a.m. celebration of service, there will be an open house at 9:45 a.m. Kids’ activities will be available for families with children.
