Nominees for high school fall athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Nov. 1. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

AUSTIN BLANKENSHIP, COLUMBIA RIVER CROSS COUNTRY: Blankenship placed second in the bi-district meet by less than a second, finishing in 16 minutes, 13.95 seconds.

MICHAELA BRUNS, PRAIRIE GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Bruns posted an easy win in the bi-district meet, finishing in 19:16 and helping the Falcons win the team title.

NATHAN CRARY/OWEN CARLSON, COLUMBIA RIVER TENNIS: The doubles team placed fourth in the bi-district tournament to earn a state tournament berth.

BROOKE VAN SICKLE, BATTLE GROUND VOLLEYBALL: Van Sickle has 63 kills, 33 assists, 21 digs, 10 aces and two blocks in the Tigers’ three wins as they secured the top seed to district.

MAKAYLA WOODS, UNION SOCCER: Woods scored five goals in Union’s two wins, including three in a district playoff win over Heritage.
