Trevor Huddleston and Wyatt Harsh of Woodland.

David Bishop and Jordan Suell of Fort Vancouver.

The four of them and their teammates seemed to be playing fantasy football Friday night at Kiggins Bowl.

Huddleston, Harsh, and the Beavers ended up with the most points.

Huddleston caught six passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns and also returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, leading Woodland (8-1) to a wild 41-34 non-league victory over Fort Vancouver (1-8).

Harsh threw for 351 yards with three touchdowns passes, plus he rushed for two more scores, including a 50-yarder that turned into the game winner.

Bishop, meanwhile, had the quarter of a lifetime, catching two touchdown passes from Suell and returning an interception for a touchdown, giving Fort a 20-7 lead. He finished the game with five catches for 199 yards. He also had a two interceptions from his defensive position.

Suell threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns.

The game was tied at 20 and 27. Woodland took a 33-27 lead late in the third quarter.

Then it was Fort’s turn to respond. Mitchel Cooper scored his second touchdown of the game, a 1-yard leap over the pile, giving the Trappers a 34-33 lead with 4:55 left in the game.

The lead lasted just seconds.

Woodland scored on its next play from scrimmage. Harsh kept the ball on the option and just kept running for a 50-yard touchdown run. His pass to Jared Cloud for the two-point conversion gave the Beavers a seven-point lead.

Fort drove to the Woodland 32-yard line in the final two minutes but did not get any closer.

The Beavers played most of Friday’s game without Eli Whitmire. He was injured early in the first quarter and did not play a snap on offense.

The two teams combined for eight turnovers in the first half.

The season came to an end for the Trappers.

Woodland will play a district playoff game next week in hopes of reaching the Class 2A state playoffs.
