Two 7-year-old girls and a 20-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries Friday when they were struck by a vehicle while trick-or-treating in east Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
The crash occurred at about 8:20 p.m. on Northeast 112th Avenue near 39th Street in the Kevanna Park neighborhood when a Ford Mustang went out of control, jumped a curb and struck two adults and two children who were walking on the sidewalk on the east side of 112th Avenue while trick-or-treating.
In addition to the three who were critically hurt, a 33-year-old woman was less severely injured. The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old man who remained on the scene, suffered injuries not believed to be life threatening.
The crash is being investigated by the Vancouver Police Department’s traffic unit, according to police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.
Volunteer crisis specialists with the Trauma Intervention Program, known as TIP, were also sent to the crash site.
