WASHOUGAL — It was senior night Friday at Fishback Stadium for the Washougal Panthers, facing the Mark Morris Monarchs in their home finale.
Naturally, it was two seniors who carried the load on their night: running backs Brandon Casteel and Garrett Duey, who were a 1-2 punch for Washougal all season in leading the Panthers to a 27-0 win in the season finale.
“It felt great,” said Casteel, who finished with 248 yards on 27 carries with three touchdowns. “This was the first time I’ve beaten Mark Morris at any level.”
After the Monarchs fumbled on their first drive, something that would be a recurring theme, Casteel took the first Panthers play from scrimmage 51 yards for a touchdown, setting the tone for the game.
