Educational Service District 112 has been awarded a $150,000 College Spark Washington Community Grant in the next three years to improve the percentage of disadvantaged children who have mastered algebra by the eighth grade. The ESD will work with Monticello Middle School in Longview and Coweeman and Huntington middle schools in Kelso.
The annual, competitive statewide community grants program focuses on building the effectiveness of grantees working with low-income students in middle and high school and college by funding new, promising practices that help students become college-ready and transition successfully to college.
