Ridgefield — Math and art skills might stem from different parts of the brain, but sixth-graders in Ridgefield were able to bridge those abilities during a recent project in their advanced math class. South Ridge math teacher Morning Stalcup and art teacher Heather Fukuchi teamed up to create a curriculum that combined a little bit math and a little bit art. Scale factor calculation lessons typically begin in seventh grade in the district, but next year will be a part of regular sixth-grade studies.
