American Medical Response and volunteers will offer free CPR training today at 12 locations in the Portland metro area, including two in Clark County.

One class is 4 to 11 p.m. at Big Al’s, 16615 S.E. 18th St., Vancouver. Another is 7 to 9 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3017 N.W. 18th Ave., Camas.

The sessions will focus on recognizing the signs of sudden cardiac arrest and teaching compression-only CPR. The course does not provide CPR certification, but it does allow participants to learn some life-saving skills.
