The state panel reviewing a proposed oil terminal in Vancouver will hold a public hearing next week focusing on whether the facility would be consistent with local land-use plans and zoning rules.
The Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council will convene in Vancouver for the meeting at 6 p.m. May 28 on the sixth floor of the Clark County Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. EFSEC will accept public comment at the meeting, but only related to the project’s compliance with land use and zoning. Comments on other aspects of the project will be allowed at future hearings, according to EFSEC.
Tesoro Corp. and Savage Companies have proposed building an oil transfer terminal at the Port of Vancouver that would be the largest such facility in the Northwest. Once EFSEC completes its review of the project, it will make a recommendation to Gov. Jay Inslee, who has final say.
