Vancouver business owner Gayle Beacock, co-owner of Beacock Music Co. music store, joined 65 other music retailers and celebrity artists this month in Washington, D.C., to advocate for comprehensive school music education programs.

The three-day Music Education Advocacy Fly-In was sponsored by the National Association of Music Merchants. Beacock met with Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, both D-Wash., and with Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, in an effort to build support for national legislation calling for access to music education for all children.
