Victory posts two weekend wins

The Vancouver Victory FC men’s soccer team posted wins on Saturday and Sunday at McKenzie Stadium, improving to 4-1 in the Evergreen Premier League.

On Saturday, the Victory downed Wenatchee FC 3-1 on goals from Bobby Hutchin, Nick Palodichuk and Bryan Gonzalez. Vancouver outshot Wenatchee 21-7, goalkeeper Sean Ervin stopped a Wenatchee penalty kick and Palodichuk added an assist in his first match with the Victory.

On Sunday, Jordan Jones scored in second-half stoppage time to give the victory a 5-4 win over Yakima United before 303 fans. The winner came after Yakima tied the match at 4-4 with a goal in the 90th minute.

Mirza Ramic scored two goals and Palodichuk and Langdon Roscoe also had goals in Sunday’s wild win.

Palodichuk, who is entering his senior season at Duke University, scored in the 34th minute and Roscoe scored a minute later to put the Victory ahead 2-1. Ramic made it 3-1 Vancouver with a penalty kick two minutes into the second half, and he gave the Victory a 4-3 goal with his score off a Gonzalez assist in the 65th minute.

Vancouver next plays at 7 p.m. Saturday against third-place South Sound FC (3-0-1, 10 points) at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood.
