Construction equipment and kids come together for the 10th annual Dozer Day. While the event will be held at a new location, children will still have the chance of trying out the driver seat of heavy construction equipment, from dozers to dump trucks, with the help of a professional operator. Other activities include pipe crawls, music, concrete crafts and treasure hunts. Event proceeds benefit local children’s charities.

2. It’s a ‘Conjunction Junction’
Journey Theater Arts Group presents “School House Rock Live Jr.,” a musical based on the Saturday morning cartoon series. Tom, a young schoolteacher, is nervous for his first day of teaching. While he watches TV, various characters emerge from the set to show Tom how to win his students over.

3. 50 years of community
With more than 2,000 expected participants, the 50th annual Hazel Dell Parade of Bands will be a community event to remember. The Golden Jubilee will honor the grand marshals of past parades, highlighting local and regional marching bands, and featuring floats, local courts, clubs, organizations and other community groups. The route begins at Fire District 6, Station 1, travels along Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue to 63rd Street, before traveling up Highway 99 to end at 78th Street.
