WILLARD — Scenic Goose Lake in the southern Gifford Pinchot National Forest has been stocked with approximately 7,600 trout.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on Tuesday planted 6,066 cutthroat trout and 1,540 brown trout.

Goose Lake campground is open. The camp has 18 sites and costs $10 per night. Goose Lake is a Northwest Forest Pass site where day use costs $5 per day or $30 for a year.

The campground has a small boat ramp, but gas motors are not allowed.

Carson-Guler road No. 60 is closed by snow near Crest Camp, but Goose Lake is accessible via road No. 66 from Willard.
