Clackamas cops seize 17 pounds of meth, arrest four

Detectives intercept suspect car while investigating alleged drug trafficking organization

Four people are facing drug charges after police seized more than 17 pounds of methamphetamine earlier this week.

The Clackamas County (Ore.) Inter-agency Task Force, a group aimed at addressing methamphetamine problems, launched a lengthy investigation into a suspected drug trafficking organization operating in Clackamas, Clark and Multnomah counties.

On Monday, police learned that a large shipment of methamphetamine was on its way through Clackamas County.

After intercepting the suspect vehicle, investigators found the drug and arrested four people on drug-related charges: Joseph D. Neth, 43; Darren G. Cornwell, 40; Corinne E. Shaver, 53; and Florencio Morales-Calderon, 32.

Neth and Cornwell were logged into the Clackamas County Jail for allegedly possessing and distributing methamphetamine. Both posted bail and were released.

Shaver and Morales-Calderon being held in lieu of $250,000 each for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and conspiring to deal methamphetamine.
