A local nonpartisan political action committee, H-RoC, is launching Girls ROC to recruit Clark County girls ages 12-17 for a leadership program.

The goal is to engage girls to learn about leadership, government, marketing, events and promotions. The free meetings start in June, and will end with a ceremony and community event on Oct. 11, the International Day of the Girl.

H-RoC is dedicated to advancing women to leadership positions in the region. The program will provide support and mentoring and connect women at all levels to community leaders and activists.

Girls may register at http://h-roc.org by May 28.

For more information about Girls ROC or to be a community sponsor, contact Lynette Love, 503-475-1537, or Lisa Schauer, 360-600-8373.
