Felida students’ essays are winners

Felida — Felida Elementary School fifth-graders got a chance to express thanks to their moms in a recent essay contest. Last month’s “What My Mother Means to Me” contest was sponsored by the American Mothers organization. Three students won honors for their heartfelt essays: Zach Madrid, Brady Decker and Lucy Ianello, who placed first, second and third, respectively. Madrid’s winning essay also won first place at the state level.
