Vancouver Victory FC beats Seattle Stars on late goal

Jordan Jones scored in the 87th minute to give Vancouver Victory FC a 1-0 road win over the Seattle Stars.

Vancouver improved to 2-1-0 in the Evergreen Premier League, a semi-pro soccer league.

Jones, who plays for Oregon State, volleyed in a shot from 15 yards. He had used his chest to control a cross from Bobby Hutchin, a Skyview grad who plays for Corbin University in Salem-, Ore.

The Victory play two matches at McKenzie -Stadium next weekend — Saturday vs. Wenatchee (6 p.m.) and Sunday vs. Yakima (4 p.m.)
