L.A. Galaxy at Timbers

Kickoff: 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Providence Park.

TV: NBC Sports Network.

Radio: 750 AM.

Tickets: www.timbers.com

Timbers (1-3-5, 8 points): The Timbers won for the first time this season when Maximiliano Urruti tucked home a rebound in the dying seconds of last Saturday’s match with D.C. United to give Portland a 3-2 win. After that win, Timbers coach Caleb Porter said he believes the Timbers will play more relaxed and therefore play better.

The Timbers have three wins, one draw and four losses in MLS against the Galaxy, including two wins and a draw last season. At home, Portland is 3-1 against Los Angeles.

Gaston Fernandez leads Portland with four goals. Darlington Nagbe and Diego Valeri each have two assists. Diego Chara has committed a league most 30 goals. Nagbe has been fouled 30 times, most in MLS.

L.A. Galaxy (2-2-2, 8 points): The Galaxy are coming off a 1-0 loss at Colorado in a match that included Robbie Keane missing a penalty kick. Landon Donovan has no goals and two assists through six games. He is among the players who next week will head to a U.S. National Team training camp as the process continues for selecting the 30-man roster for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Last week Donovan shifted from a forward position to a midfield role after Los Angeles lost Marcelo Sarvas, who is expected to miss two months with a knee injury. The Galaxy will also be without central defender Omar Gonzalez, who suffered a knee injury in the match at Colorado and is expected to be out a week or two. Keane leads the Galaxy with four goals.
